From the Prez!
Greetings Fellow Cruisers!
The March 2014 meeting of the Keystone Kruisers Car Club was held Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Cabin Green Golf Club. For those of you who were unable to attend, what follows is a brief synopsis of same:
First off, I would like to welcome new member Boyd BAKER to the club. With Boyd's knowledge and experience, he is sure to be an asset to our organization. When you see him at either a meeting or a cruise, be sure to say, "Hi."
Vice President JOHNSON reported that there are 4 new links at the top of the web page to view. Some deal with the sink hole at the National Corvette Museum (some of us are still in mourning), some deal with the use of ethanol gas, and there is one link to a 2012 cruise to Erie. Good stuff. As always, Bill works hard to keep the web site up to date. Check it out frequently for cruises in the area at www.keystonekruisers.com
Secretaries COLLAR received 2,500 cruise flyers and sent 61 sponsor letters. If you need flyers, see Russ or Shirley. A copy of the sponsor letter was presented and approved. If you know of any business that could sponsor our cruise, please let me or Russ know. There was a motion to purchase a return address stamp with our Club name on it, to be used instead of handwriting out all the return addresses. Motion approved. Russ also reported that there are currently 32 paid members.
Treasurer MONTGOMERY sent information that stated that we have $2,673.00 in our bank account.
A photo copy of the trophy for this year's student car/truck was presented. The trophy has been ordered and we are awaiting it's arrival.
Cars and Coffee, an early to mid-morning cruise was brought up, discussed, and approved by the membership. Further details to follow.
New Keystone Kruisers jackets, for those who wanted them, have been ordered from the Village Idiot Designs. We anticipate arrival within 2 to 3 weeks, and with the current weather and forecast, it does appear that they will still get a lot of use this year.
Terry YOCKEY reports that plans for the ice cream poker run are moving forward. Again, further details to follow.
Next month we will discuss T-shirt colors for the 2014 cruise. (at this time, pink seems to be the top runner)
Also at the next meeting, the voluntary sign up sheets for the cruise will be available. Please think about your favorite part of helping out, or just what you are good it. Remember, many hands make work light! (or something like that) Come and sign up!
Come out and join us on April 3, 2014 for your next meeting. Dinner is at 6:00PM and a brief meeting starts at 7:00PM. This month, dinner will be a buffet style feed. These have been great in the past, and we eagerly anticipate the same quality and service that we have come to expect. The exact menu is currently unknown, but come and see what surprises the kitchen staff has up their sleeve. Sit with old friends or make new ones and enjoy the friendly atmosphere that is always abundant when like-minded people get together. Remember, this is YOUR club: Not mine or anybody elses, but YOURS. Come, get involved, and have fun! That's what it's all about.
As always, any ideas, comments, suggestions, questions, or if you just want talk, e-mail or give me a call. All members addresses and phone numbers can be found in the "Members Only" section at the bottom of the web site.
Until then stay safe and warm.
PS. This is two meetings in a row with no SNOW!
