April 2014

Greetings Cruisers:

The April meeting of the Keystone Kruisers Car Club was held on April 3, 2014 at the Cabin Green Golf Club. Prior to the meeting, a delicious buffet was presented by the girls in the kitchen and was enjoyed by all. For those of you that were unable to attend the meeting, what follows is a brief synopsis of the highlights:

We welcomed visitor Geri ASHBAUGH to the meeting as a prospective member. We're glad she came and hope she had a good time.

The PA Hero Walk, Armstrong County Division, approached the club and requested permission to set up an informational stand at our cruise to advise people of their mission to help area veterans. A membership vote granted permission to set up the stand, but not permission to sell any food or wares.

News from Vice President/Webmaster JOHNSON: There is now a weather app attached to the main page of the website. Click on it for the latest weather for the cruises, or lately, to see if it will snow. Please send Bill any and all information regarding cruises that you may hear about. He will assure that they are posted for all to see.

Secretaries COLLAR report that we currently have 20 sponsors for the cruise. More are expected to come in soon.

Treasurer MONTGOMERY states there is $3,513.00 in our bank account, but we have not yet paid our insurance.

A vote was taken for the color of this year's cruise T-shirt color. Among the top contenders were hot pink, safety green, white camo and lavender. The winner is lavender with purple writing.

Tracy YOCKEY says that the ice cream poker run is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2014, starting at 4:00 PM. This not-to-be-missed event is still in the planning stages but will start and end at the Franklin Village Mall. So far, definite stops include Speedy's and Jordan's. Further information to follow.

Rich ANDERSON reports that "Cars and Coffee" is still in the planning stages, but hopes to become an early (not too early, I hope) breakfast run.

Members Boyd BAKER and Morgan SMITH had been hospitalized during March, but we are happy to report that they are home and on the mend. If anybody hears of a member that is ill, please contact me or any board member. Thanks.

Member Patty COLBERG has a recurring headache problem, and we hope it can be treated.

Just a reminder that Club members are not eligible to win the $500.00 prize at the cruise. This was accidentally omitted from the flyer.

The May dinner buffet will include, at least, chicken, cole-slaw and some kind of soup. The rest of the goodies have yet to be determined. Remember, you can always order individual items from the menu.

There will be a sign up sheet for those needing (the lavender with purple writing) T-Shirts for the cruise. We will need your name, size and quantity so the order can be placed.

There will also be the sign up sheets for helping out at the cruise. Please sign up for your favorite duties. This way we will know that all the areas are covered and we can all enjoy the show.

Check out the Keystone Kruisers Website often for current information regarding local and not-so-local cruises. Bill does a GREAT job keeping this current, and is the best place I know for pertinent cruise information.

Remember folks, this is YOUR club, and we need you, all of you, to expand and keep it going strong. Hope to see you all at the next meeting on May 1, 2014. 6:00 PM for dinner, and the brief meeting starts at 7:00. See ya there!

Until then, stay safe and healthy.
