From the Prez!
Greetings to all:
The June meeting of the Keystone Kruisers Car Club was held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Cabin Green Golf Club. A delicious buffet was provided and enjoyed by all. Next month's dinner cuisine will be an All American picnic-style buffet that you won't want to miss! After dinner, a brief meeting was conducted. For those of you that were unable to attend, here is a recap of that meeting:
We received the paid application of new members Roy and Roberta WILLIAMSON. Welcome to the club! If you have any ideas, projects, complaints, etc, be sure and let me know!
As friends of member John HOLETIC, we also welcomed guests Bob KOVALIK and Larry BLAIR to the meeting. We hope that they enjoyed themselves and will consider becoming members.
Vice President/Webmaster JOHNSON reported that there is now a photo video of the June 1st Advance Auto Parts cruise on the website. Check it out! Some neat cars were there.
Bill also handed out some of the new Keystone Kruiser's business cards. They boldly list our club affiliation, location and website information. A great way to promote our club! If you would like to obtain some for you and your friends, see Bill. Nice job, Mister Vice President!
There had been requests to explore the possibility of getting a club license plate made that could be affixed to the front of a car, or placed inside the car at cruises. JnJ Grafix, care of our own V.P., presented us with two examples of their fine work. The license plates display basically the same information as do the business cards and can be ordered in either plastic or aluminum. A sign up sheet was passed around for orders and a large number of members signed up to get one (or two, or three). The cost is about $9.00 plus tax.

Secretaries COLLAR told us that we now have 35 club members.
We have also got 41 sponsors for our cruise. GREAT JOB Russ and Shirley, and to all who helped in any way. 41 sponsors is the highest in my memory.
Treasurer MONTGOMERY stated that we have $4,149.87 in the bank, prior to the insurance being paid.
The club was gifted $50.00 from Advance Auto Parts as a "Thank You" for helping out at their cruise. The money was given to Treasurer MONTGOMERY for use in our annual winter outreach giving.
Speaking of our annual gift to others, the membership decided to produce a banner that states where previous years monies have gone. For example, it will tell all that last years $1,235.00 went to the Mechling-Shakely Veterans Center in Cowansville, Armstrong County. Past donations have gone to the Salvation Army (Armstrong County division), the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging, and a host of others. A written synopsis of giving shall be prepared and the DJ will announce same throughout the cruise. This is simply to advise cruise participants where and how their donated monies will be used to help others.
Letters were sent to local schools advising of the cruise and the "Students Only" section. Speaking of which, this year's trophy for the outstanding student entry has been received from McMillen's Trophy's, and was displayed at the meeting.
The plans for the August 16th Ice Cream Poker Run are proceeding smoothly. Some flyers have been produced and were passed out. A copy of the flyer can be seen and copied from our website under the "Events" section. Kudos to Terry and Tracy YOCKEY for all the hard work they have put into this event so far. It promises to be a taste tempting treat. Mark your calender and be sure to attend! (Just don't forget to pump up the old air shocks!)
We have 12 promises for baskets at the Chinese Auction. We usually have many more. If you could possibly make, create, design, or just go buy a Chinese Auction bag, box or carton, please let me know ASAP. We need to at least double this amount. This is just one way that we raise money for our annual gift to others.
Anyone still desiring this year's cruise T-shirts (lavender with purple writing), contact me before Monday, June 8th, as the order is being sent out to be printed.
Anyone attending cruises and needing Cruise and/or Ice Cream Poker Run flyers to pass out, contact Russ. Either he or I shall see that you get them.
As usual, we will meet at the Worthington-West Franklin VFD on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 6:00PM to assure that the lot is free of tire damaging debris. If you can, bring a magnet and some plastic garbage bags. Please try to make it.
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Cabin Green Golf Club. Dinner is a 6:00 pm and the meeting starts at 7:00. Come and be among your fellow cruisers and friends. This will be our last chance to nail down all final cruise issues. Being involved in the planning and execution of the annual cruise is both an exciting and fulfilling proposition. Come on down and give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
