From the Veep!

July 2014

Greetings to all:

The July meeting of the Keystone Kruisers Car Club was held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Cabin Green Golf Club. We had an All American picnic-style buffet and it was enjoyed by all. After dinner, a brief meeting was conducted by Vice President, Bill Johnson. We had 21 people in attendance. For those of you that were unable to attend, here is a recap of that meeting:

We received the paid applications of two new members, Larry Blair and Robert Kovalik both from Vandergrift. Welcome to the club! They are both friends with member John Holetich, Thanks John! If you have any ideas, projects, complaints, etc, be sure and let us know!

Vice President/Webmaster Bill Johnson reported about a few of the many up-coming car cruises. Some of the local cruises are:

  • 12 - Ford City - Baptist Bash at the 1st Baptist Church 1-4PM
  • 13 - Worthington - KEYSTONE KRUISERS Car Cruise 4-8PM
  • 16 - Kittanning - Kit-Han-Ne Car Cruise at the Cadet 4PM to ?
  • 24 - Leechburg - KALMAR Car Cruise for Relay for Life 4-8PM

Rich Anderson brought the new club T-shirts for 2014 and most of the people got theirs. I am sure Rich will have them with him at the Worthington/West Franklin VFD parking lot clean-up as well as on the day of our cruise. And it is still not too late to order yours if you have not done so!

Speaking of the VFD parking lot clean-up, it will be held on Saturday, 12 July 2014 at 6PM. It does not take as much work to do as previous years and we always have a brief meeting about our Cruise the following day. If you can, bring a magnet and/or some plastic garbage bags. Please be there if you can.

Our members are working hard on baskets for the Chinese Auction but we could use more! If you could possibly make, create, design, or just go buy a Chinese Auction bag, box or carton, it would be greatly appreciated. This is just one way that we raise money for our annual gift to others.

Everything is going together for our August 16th Ice Cream Poker Run. Flyers are available. A copy of the flyer can be seen and copied from our website under the "Events" section. Thanks to Terry & Tracy Yockey for putting this event together. There has been some interest from cruisers outside of our club!

Club license plates have been made by JnJ Grafix. Some of those that ordered plates got them at the meeting. I should have the rest of them with me this week-end. The cost is $9.00 plus tax.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Cabin Green Golf Club. Dinner is a 6:00PM and the meeting starts at 7:00. Come and be among your fellow cruisers and friends.

Remember, this is your club. Take pride and take care.

Sue, thanks for taking the meeting notes! Where is the cop when you really need one?

    Till next time, stay safe

    Bill
